  • Strange drugs found (PML 1 and MANO 1)

One of my students was cleaning out her box of herbs and oils from our aromatherapy class. In her box (which was in the shared classroom over the summer), she discovered new additions that were not hers. She is stressed. As her teacher, so am I.

    New additions:
"Pharmacy type pill container in it, with about 50 small oval light purple pills in it. There is no prescription label on the container and the pills are marked on one side *PML 1*; a few of them are more blue than purple and read *MANO 1*."

What are these? Does htis ring any bells? I need to know before I address the matter with other staff members, with people who share our space, and people who own the space.

I will try to bring sample to the University Hearlth Services department of my school. I hope they can help me identify these.

Sorry, can't help you here. I have searched everywhere I can think of and can't find a match.
BUT often generic pills look similar to the branded equivalent, so if I had to guess, I would say these pills sound like some form of benzodiazepine, most likely alprazolam or triazolam.
If you do find out what they are, please let us know.

I think it is a generic form of the XANAX 1.0 pill that looks similar to these. I found a couple in the bottle with these other two strange ones. They were all mixed together in an unmarked bottle of about 50 pills. I will see what the University Health Services can tell me too.

Okay. That makes sense. MANO PHARMA looks to be an Indian company and they do make Alprazolam which is the generic version of Xanax.
