    Mercaptopurine, 6-MP tablets

    What are mercaptopurine tablets?

MERCAPTOPURINE (6-MP, Purinethol®) is a type of chemotherapy for treating cancer. Mercaptopurine interferes with the growth of cancer cells. It is used for treating acute lymphocytic leukemia (ALL). Mercaptopurine may also be used to treat inflammatory bowel conditions such as ulcerative colitis or Crohn's disease. Generic mercaptopurine tablets are available.

Is it possible that this pill is quite old? Like 1979 or before?

There was a drug by Schering, which was discontinued in 79, called Deronil that was white and had a 420 imprint. I think it was a corticosteroid, but am not 100% sure. I have been unable to find a picture of it. But it could be a possibility if the pill is that old.

(I am not a medical professional. Just a student with an interest in pharmacology. Please verify all information with a licensed Dr or Phramacist before injesting any medications you are unsure of.)

Actually, this is made by Zee Medical and Ohm is 200 mg of Ibuprofen (Motrin) and the logo looks like this.

I might not always be right, but I'm never wrong.

You are probably right. The old Rx I am thinking of was imprinted 420 but I dont think it was circled, just a round pill. Do you know of a search/look up for discontinued Rx's?
